Chevrolet has launched the Bolt EV Concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, a funky crossover that promises a 200-mile electric range starting at just around $30,000.
The concept represents an electric vehicle that would join the Volt in our lineup at Boose Chevrolet. It features unique proportions (there’s practically no front or rear overhang) and makes the most of interior space to create a roomy environment for four.
Everything about the car is lightweight: aluminum, magnesium, carbon fiber, and woven mesh are all used to reduce weight and maximize range in unison with aero-optimizing features like vented rear fenders.
According to Chevrolet, the driver will be able to choose operating modes designed around preferred driving styles to always get the most out of the electric drivetrain. The Bolt EV will also be designed to support DC fast charging, which along with the 200-mile range should make it a serious contender in the EV market!
