If the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro were a person, that person would need to dedicate a room for all its trophies. After recently winning Motor Trend’s Car of the Year award, it has now also been named 2016 Car of the Year in the Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Awards.
It’s not too hard to understand why it won Popular Mechanics’ 2016 Car of the Year. Any customer who has driven a Camaro before who comes to Reichard Chevrolet to test the new one can immediately tell how the significant reduction in weight has affected the handling. The 2016 Camaro is more agile and responsive than ever before, which is only bolstered by the available 455-horsepower 6.2-liter V8.
But Popular Mechanics points out that it’s not all about the performance. The Camaro is simply great at putting the whole package together. It boasts a “shrewdly designed interior,” has a great electric power steering system, offers loads of ways to configure your LEDs, and is just extremely playful overall.
“The new Camaro needs no qualifiers,” writes Popular Mechanics’ George Retseck. “It’s just a kick-ass sports coupe, a BMW-eating hunk of A-game American engineering.” We at Reichard Chevrolet definitely agree.
